More Than Home Décor: What I Wish More People Took Home from Vintage Market Days of Mobile
There’s something special about walking into Vintage Market Days of Mobile.
The doors open and suddenly you’re surrounded by texture, color, creativity, and intention. Booth after booth filled with curated collections you won’t find in big box stores. Pieces with history. Handmade goods crafted by artists who stayed up late perfecting them. Vintage finds that feel like they were waiting just for the right home.
Yes, there are clothes. Yes, there are candles and baked goods and seasonal touches.
But everyone knows, you come for the unique home decor finds.
The Beauty of Something You Can’t Find at HomeGoods.

Each vendor pours themselves into their space. They don’t just “set up a booth.” They curate it. They design it. Many of them hand-make what they’re selling. Others hunt for months to source the perfect vintage pieces.
There’s intention behind every display.
And that’s why it feels different than walking through a warehouse-style home store. You’re not just buying décor. You’re bringing home something with character.
Something personal.
Something not everyone else has.
And every year (this is my third year serving as the official photographer for the event) I get a front-row seat to all of it.
I love photographing community events like this. I love supporting local artists and small businesses. I love capturing the energy of people connecting over creativity.
But as I walk through the market, there’s always one thought in the back of my mind.
The Most Unique Thing You Could Hang on Your Wall...
Isn’t décor.
It’s your people.
We spend so much time searching for pieces that make our homes feel personal. We want our spaces to reflect us. Our style, our story, our values.
And I find the most tailored, irreplaceable artwork you could ever own is a framed portrait of the people (and pets) you love most.

No more digitals sitting on a phone.
Not another file stored away.
Printed artwork.
Because no one else has your family.
No one else has your story.
No one else has this season of life exactly the way you’re living it right now.
At a market full of handmade, curated, carefully chosen pieces…
Your portraits are still the most custom thing in the room.
Why I Show Up Every Year
Being the official event photographer for Vintage Market Days of Mobile for the past three years has been such an honor.
I get to document:
The late-night booth setups
The first shoppers through the doors
The proud smiles of vendors watching customers fall in love with their work
And I get to have conversations at my own booth about something I care deeply about, helping families move their memories off their phones and onto their walls.
Because décor makes a house beautiful.
But portraits make it yours.
The Giveaway
Each year at my booth, I host a giveaway as a way to connect with new families and give someone the opportunity to experience custom portrait artwork for themselves.
This year’s winner is:
🎉 Ashley Miller 🎉
If that’s you, I cannot wait to plan something meaningful together.
And if you didn’t win, don’t worry. There’s always something special in the works.
A Little Hint at What’s Next

If you stopped by and chatted with me, you may have heard me mention my ongoing Puppy Love sessions.
Because your four-legged family members deserve a place on your walls too.
If Vintage Market Days reminded you how much you value unique, meaningful pieces in your home…
Maybe it’s time to consider the most personal artwork of all.
